                                              THE ESSENCE OF ESSENCE

            This is the full Sensory Awareness of Sensory Awareness, being without content,

            possesing the essential information that all the sensory system is operative

            with full and natural Awareness without content.

                                                It is PURE AWARENESS

                                           THE EMPTINESS OF EMPTINESS

The Emptiness of Emptiness is actually the full and complete MINDFULNESS 

without content. It makes available a valid Cognition that is unstained by

way of the processes of PERCEPTION which gives Name to FORM

                                               It is PURE MINDFULNESS

These three, the Wisdom of Function, Pure Awareness and Pure MIndfulness are together the PURE MIND, the Uncarved Wood of Chan. When they are Awakened through the

Correct Contemplations and melded as one, they permit the Awakening itself to become available outside the mere "sitting" with the body or the Correct and Natural "Sitting of

the Mind" and are at hand every day in every moment among everyday phenomena.
