The Dao-Chan Contemplations
There are Dao-Chan contemplations specifically for the development of Zeal, Initiative, Determination and Perseverance. These contemplations and meditations require for most people the generation of Access contemplations which pave the way for the principle assault on any energy moving impulses that are weak.
In addition for each principle contemplation there are supporting contemplations which I call consociation practices, which is a term used in the science of ecology, and refers to two species growing in close proximity to each other, that help to sustain the other’s growth and development.
The details of the four principle contemplations and the access contemplations for Transformation Shen, 化神, as wella as the consociative Contempleations are at the moment only available to advanced students.
The general scheme, however, is the following for the development and strengthening of the Shen Spirit, 化神, of Transformation.:

1. THE RENOVATION OF THE ENERGY OF ZEAL, 熱心 rè xīn
The Back door contemplation for 熱心 rè xīn, ZEAL, uses the Access Life Force contemplations (A) that were used for the consociative liberation of Transformtion SHEN.
These contemplations actually, when used in the previous listed practice, simultaneously act as consociative contemplations (A) for 熱心 rè xīn, reinforcing the resultant experiences discerned in the direct 熱心 rè xīn contemplations. This further strengthening of 熱心 rè xīn opens full communication paths between the HUN masculine principle and the PO cognitive readiness to respond.

2. THE RENOVATION OF THE ENERGY OF INITIATIVE, 積極性, jī jí xìng
The conociative contemplation for 積極性, jī jí xìng , INITIATIVE, then are the Access contemplations (B) that were used for the energy liberation of 熱心 rè xīn.
They actually simultaneously act as a consociative contemplations (B).
They are contemplations of Vacuity, Unity, Impermanence and Clear Comprehension. They reinforce the discerned experiences of the direct 積極性, jī jí xìng, contemplations.
The strengthening of 積極性 jī jí xìng, then opens the communication paths between the PO, Cognitive Consciousness and YI, Intellectual Thought
The 積極性, jī jí xìng meditations are a the constant daily cognitive awareness of the natural qualities of the four sublime states within each human creature.

3. THE RENOVATION OF THE ENERGY OF DETERMINATION , 志意 yi zhi
The consociative contemplation for 志意 yi zhi , DETERMINATION, then are the Access contemplations (C) that were used for the energy liberation of 積極性 jī jíxìng. These contemplations are upon various aspects of virtue.
They actually simultaneously act as a consociative contemplations (C) for DETERMINATION.
They thus reinforceg the discerned experiences of the direct 志意 yi zhi contemplations. The strengthening of 志意 yi zhi, then opens the communication paths between Yi , intellectual Thought and ZHI, Will or Cognitive Motivation
The 志意, yi zhi concentrations are upon the four "rupa" attainments, which refers to physical phenomena or experiencess.

4. THE RENOVATION OF THE ENERGY OF PERSEVERANCE , 恒心 heng xin
The Consociative contemplation for 恒心 heng xin , PERSEVERANCE, then uses the Access contemplations (D) that were used for the energy liberation of 志意 yi zhi
They actually simultaneously act as a consociative contemplations (D).
They are Concentration with one poinedness upon Breathing and the establishment of the calmness and stillness of the natural Becoming of Consciouness , thus reinforcing the discerned experiences of the direct 恒心 heng shen contemplations. The strengthening of 恒心 heng xin, then opens the communication paths between the ZHI and higher centres
The 恒心, heng xin concentrations, are upon Infinite Space, Infinite Consciousness, Perception of Nothingness and Neither Perception nor Non Perception.
The Acess Contemplations (D) for PERSEVERANCE consists of Contemplations upon the Clinging to Existence and Clinging to No Existence.

NOTES
The principle difference between the concentrations and the contemplations is that the former are one pointed and the latter expansive.
When I spoke about Shen Power and the Three Poisons I stated:
Zeal, 熱心 rè xīn, is accompanied by Well Being.
Then I staed that, "I am always filed with surprise when I find that the very experiences of the life force itself are associated in this way".
I mentioned
Initiative, 積極性 jī jí xìng , with Gladness
Determination, 志意 yi zhi, with Equanimity
Perseverance, 恒心 heng xin , with Natural Compassion
We must add that the perfect consociative contemplations for 恒心 Heng xin would be a long term practice of Vipassana Absorption.
I then suggested that there was another surprise in store.
Well the very dedicated student with a free critical mind would have asked, "What about Benevolent affect? Where does that fit in?
Then his cognitive intellect, the precious tool, may have clicked in and he would have said, "Of course,
Naturally, Spirit, 化神Transformation Shen, is accompanied by Benevolent Affect.
He would be correct and that is where the surprise comes in, for nature has cyclic perfection, for the access practices for the the four higher attainments provide the conociative contemplative applications for Transformation Shen, thus almost completing the picture.
