THE HUN - YUAN SHEN CONTEMPLATIONS

Action
While the Energy Force of Yuan Shen does require PENETRATION into
the unconscious to reinforce theat force, the Hun-Yuan contemplations
require no deeper penetration than the Last Cognitive Experience.
These thirteen contemplations are not continued within the Becoming
of Consciousness to the unconscious levels, but only to the VICARA EXPERIENCE of each.
It is the five Rexin - Hun conscious experiences which are carried as
part of the Presence.
REVISION OF THE BASE
1. The certainty that liberation of Natural Dharma is the most important element of one's life.
2. Organization with appropriate pre-programmration with deep imagination.
3. Understanding the importance and practice of the concentration on "breathing in and breathing out", as access to the eventual attainment
of the Becoming of Consciousness.
4. Understanding and practice of the entry into the "Becoming of Consciousness" through the full development of "whole body"
Defensive Qi.
REFLECTION
There are some (not many) who can proceed directly to the Cognitive Experience, but it is wise to prevent Identity fraudulent immitation by developing the Last Conceptualization of the EXPERIENCE by way of the VITAKKA stage of REFLECTION.
This REFLECTION is built outside the actual contemplation as a Contemplation Device (CD) and entered automatically during the Contemplation in the Becoming of Conscousness Stage.
It then becomes, as it were, an internal Concentration upon the device.
If the breathing has really been maintained in the background then
there will be no interference form other thought streams. Associations relative to the device may enter, but they must be simply let go and concentration maintained upon the device.
The device must gradually be built as a CD by first forming the concepts
of the device until one is clear of the nature of the device and then by reducing them to the most minimal conceptual concept by using as few words and ideas as possible.
This means that there will be no parts of speech that interfere, no
adjective, adverbs, articles or other formal construction including
plurals or time elements.
For example, without loosing the actual experience;
"The cat sits there by the fire this morning", without loosing the concept
will be reduced to "CAT SITS".
This last verbal conceptualization must be personal and therefore it is inappropriate to give last verbal conceptualizations for each of these
thiteen devices.
However, at least they must be clearly understood, so we will present
a brief cognitive description of each so that there will be no error.
THE PO-REXIN CONTEMPLATIONS
THE LIFE FORCE
The life force is a fount of Energy that has its full force directed at the development and growth of any living creature. It can be felt and
expressed as words in our own lives as "being alive".
That "being alive" is for a moment and the force continues with a series
of mind momenta that allows the growth and development of each life
form and the the eventual aging and falling away.
The Contemplation best begins by observing an actual living organism
or imagining one. Seeing deeper than the normal sense doors permit
oneself to sense the actual moments of that growth and development.
Watch the generation of your mind concepts within this and reduce
them to the minimal and dwelling with that minimal allow the Vitaca Experience to evolve without visceral or emotional experiences, mental associations, expectation or force.
It is equally possible to extend one's mind directly into the sense of Life as growth and development without particularity. But yjis is much more difficult and open to Identity traps.
VACUITY (not emptiness)
All phenomena are generated by the mind and they are not present
in the apparent external world, although there is a corresponding
irritation which impinges upon the MIRROR of AWARENESS.
It is the attributes of the mind which give the incoming irritation its
FORM and generate not just form, contour, texture, color, perspective, distance and other attributes. When that set of attributes is completed
then PECEPTION makes a "best fit" operation and a name derived from memory.
The state of Vacuity then for any phenomenon of the senses, not just
the visual set that we have mentioned here, is the phenomenon extracted by any Clear Comprehension from the Undifferentiated mass.
Vacuity is not the same as Emptiness, which is the Contemplation of the state of the Undifferentiated mass from which any clear comprehension
is seized.
Vacuity then is the Vacuity of any phenomenon received by the senses.
The Contemplation best begins by observing an actual mentsl or physical
phenomenon. Seeing deeper than the normal sense doors permit
one to sense the vacuity beyond the form presented..
Watch the generation of your verbal mind concepts within this and
reduce them to the minimal and dwelling with that minimal expression
of Vacuity allow the Vitakka Experience to evolve without visceral or emotional experiences, mental associations, expectation or force.
UNITY (oneness)
This Contemplation in order to generate the Cognitive Experience
best begins with your Experience of Vacuity in the simple word form previously generated.
Since every physical and mental phenomenon is generated by the
mind then understanding arises that something has been extracted
from the unknown undifferentiated mass through the generated
operation of Clear Comprehension.
That undifferentiated mass is limited by our mind to include just what
is required for the extraction. But that undifferentiated mass has no
beginning or end, no boundries or limits and is not bound by time considerations except those imposed by the cognitive mind.
It is then one undifferentiated whole. Looking at Buddha's Sura mundane Contemplations you can perhaps see the rerlationship which exists
If one wishes to try the acess to the LAST CONCEPTUAL EXPERIENCE directlky then consider the following:
In the Buddha's system the platform was the fourth to eighth Jhana meditations.
Dimension of Infinite Space - "the perception of the dimension of the infinitude of space".
Dimension of Infinite Consciousness - "the perception of the dimension of the infinitude of consciousness".
Dimension of Nothingness - In the dimension of nothingness, there is "the perception of the dimension of nothingness, singleness of mind".
Dimension of Neither Perception nor Non-Perception - Resulting attitudes are detached, released, disassociated, and without clinging or craving, with a general awareness without barriers. There is a discernment experience that 'There is a further escape,' and perseverance is restored, preparing one then for an advance upon Supra-Mundane Insight meditation.
When there four are disolved then one can discern the Unity.
Likewise in the Last Conceptualization there is :
1- Infinitude of space as One
2- Infinitude of consciousness as One
3. The perception of the dimension of nothingness as being One
4. There being neither Perception nor Non-Perception then all is One
Starting then with the last conceptualization of Vacuity then expand that Vacuity embracing fully the Oneness.
IMPERMANENCE
In this mundane world of Samsara it is easy to detect intellectually that
all is impermanent, although that does not prevent the Identity from
clinging to permanence.
However, here in this contemplation the concept of Impermanence
must be extended to mean"Constant Change".
One must then build the device carefully in words so that the concept of change extends without boundaries of time or space.
Onc can move directly then to the cognitive experience of Impermanence.
This is accomplished by expanding vacuity into the Unity and then alloeing the mind to embrace the concept of constant chenge within than undifferentiated boundless mass. It does require a certain imagination to succeed, but it as after all only a cognitive experience.
CLEAR COMPREHENSION
Here, we are not speaking of the mentally "clear comprehension" of an idea that
is intellectual, but the very moment when the operation of the extraction of any form of the five senses from the undefined mass takes place, without at that moment definition or name.
This has been extracted on the basis of that set being a potential benefit to the system or a threat.
What we have to capture in this Contemplation as the last word conceptualization or the last Cognitive Experience is that very moment of extraction which has no content, for one mind moment before it is within and part of the undifferentiated, which is of no interest to us and a mind moment later is defined with a name. We must capyure the words and experience that match that very mind moment of the clear comprehension

While it is certain that illusion builds an image of ourselves as one sepqarate being apart from all other phenomena, actually that is not the truth. We have an apparent separate existence because our mind creates that existence as an illusion
that is a perfect tool for survival if it is understood correctly without Identity.
If we strip away the Identity we discover that we are a part of one life force that is
not separate in terms of survival from even the inanimate environment that supports
all life forms.
WE are not really then an "observer", but simply "observing", and a part of that whole with that observing priviledge.
We depend upon offspring for the perpetuation of our species. We depend upon the tribe for our mutual protection and we depend clearly upon the environlemt of all animate and inanimate life.
Self, offspring, tribe and the environment are not four separate phenomenon, but
one phenomenon, staring from our apparent existence outwards as survival and life potential extends.
We are energy as all things are energy and we enjoy the great privaledge of consciousness which is abused. We also enjoy experiences which are not understood and abused by Identity belief.
If we allow the natural expression of examination of the True Self, not the Identity
self then we experience the well being of being alive.
If we extend that to offspring then we discover another apparent experience which
is Bliss and then Rapture if we really include our illusory self within the tribe.
Finally when we allow ourselves to be really one with the whole environment
which exists then we can experience a true Awe that is not Identity related.
Just as we are in fact one rather small and insignificant energy force within the
whole of the Whole Life Force that can be expressed as an ever increasing energy
that extends from the individual to the whole, so Well Being, Bliss, Rapture and
Awe are one single expression of energy.
It is not a coincidence that Gladness, Benevolent Affect, Compassion and Equanimity also are one force, divided by our own mind on the basis of intensity.
We will go further and say that Attitude, Intention, Readiness to Respond and
Action itself are only one single expression of energy that stems from the least
to the greatest force of external expression which is Action.
All these must be nurtured an correctly released.
A correct attitude towards True other directed Self brings Well Being and Gladness. Correct intention towards all offspring evokes Benevolent Affect and Bliss. Correct readiness to respond to our tribe genders Compassion and Rapture and finally Correct Actions within this Environment produce Equanimity and Awe.
If we allow this as a possible model then let us look at the flow of energy that is
correct and possitive that innervates correct Cognition as the flow which produces Equanimity and Awe, Compassion and Rapture, Benevolent Affect and Bliss,
and Gladness and Well Being.
The more that we develop these the greater will be the energy of positive innervation to cognition. It is difficult to generate the series Equanimity, Compassion, Benevolent Affect and Well Being because they have beenby society Identity stained, but Awe, Rapture, Bliss and Well Being are not so stained.
To generate a positive flow then we generate these four.
How?
By using a contemplative reflection upon the Awe produced by the interaction with some aspect of the environment, which you have experienced and can choose as a last conceptualization.
By using contemplative reflection upon the Rapture evoked by the concept
of total oneness with an imagined group in complete Harmony and Balance as a last conceptualization.
By using contemplative Reflection upon the Bliss of Imagined Identity free infancy as a last conceptualization
By using the Well Being of a Reflection upon an imagined Self without the
least Identity presence as a last conceptualization.
These "reflections" as Vitakka, then produce a sound base of Joy and the Experiences of Identity -less "Vicara" Awe, Rapture, Bliss and Well being
that reinforces the positive connection, the motivator, if you will, between
the Correct and natural expressions of the Life Force and Cognition, thus
defeating all Identity relations that Identity attempts to impose.

Just as the Rexin vitalization required the daily as a Presence:
The Life Force
Vacuity
Unity
Impermanence
Clear Comprehension
so Yuan- Shen requires a daily re adjustment of "belief" which is an operation
of the right hemisphere, which within this stained Samsara projects the idea
that one's Attitudes, Intentions, Readiness to Respond and Actions are True, regardless of the Homeostatic protest.
What these four contemplations actually do is reveal that Correct and Natural Attitudes, Intentions, Readiness to Respond and Actions have an experence associated with each that is discernable within consciousness and is essentially different from the Identity directed experiences.
Mindfulness pf these experiences allows the regulation of the HUN process,
so that the stained operations are easily discerned and the strength of the homeostasis restored.
We can then in the model consider these correct and natural experiences as
a constant Fail Safe Regulator whenever the mind is in operation with our thoughts, just as the Presence watches and balances Identity Error in daily perceptions.
These four contemplations are also Reflections and the last conceptual experiences of Vicara are not carried further into the unconscious system
as are the contemplations of the Yuan shen energy force.
Each of the Last Conceptualizations are formed using the imagination to
generate a word picture of a perfect "Attitude", for example, one that is fully
in balance and harmony with the Dharma.
One must search within memory for such a moment in the past, using that
as a base or the construction. Remember that we are not interested in the event, but the experience that was unusual and accompanied that event.
Thiis word description of then actual experience at that moment is used as the Last Conceptualization of Vitakka and allowed to rest without associations and complex interference until the Cognitive Experience itself syntheises.
The same method is used with Intention, the Readiness to Respond and
the final Action.
As we have said, once they have been developed onevremains on constant
watch with ones thoughts in order to detect the first arousal of these that
does not have these experiences appended.
