THE SECRET CHAN FOREST DECLARATION OF INTENT
With the clear understanding that there will be very few who are sufficiently interested in pursuing with diligence and intensity the Chan Dharma Path with a full understanding, this page has been directed and constructed.
Buddha Dharma is, as Buddha predicted, dying and has been failing since the seventh century, when it started to produce the false Dharma of Mundane Compassion and the construction of Buddhist Religion, which takes pride of place as if it was the cure for all suffering.
Books, even Dharma books, have in this last century flooded the world with Ignorance and now almost all books, having lost the treasure of wisdom, are also ready for the grave, having become the resting place for Folly.
The internet communication system, filled with noise that never ceases, continues to grow generating a universal globalization of mind-zombies and still is rising as an invasion over the earth like the hordes of Genghis Khan, with equal destruction.
This page then is presented for the far distant future, not the tawdry present, when with great fortune Chan Dharma and all Buddha Dharma may once more become alive and understood by the human creature who wants to lift him- or herself out of the stained Samsara of the Future.
This indeed may be a vain hope, for what is written here may also soon perish, but it is all that can be considered at the present time as possible.
These pages contain the secrets of Dharma which are seldom taught and the essential Contemplations are explained so that cognition can grasp not only the path, but the explanations that give credence to now rejected ideas.
There will be a few who do grasp the necessity of keeping Chan Dharma alive as a flame for future generations, while Science continues in its ivory tower giving us proof of that which has not only been known for centuries but practiced.
Artificial intelligence has been sought without regard to the faulty cognitive intelligence which evolution has produced. Human vanity has never been greater.
Never has science tried to bridge the gap between technology and the unknown mind except by vain and identity-ridden attempts as modern Psychology, which lauds self-fulfillment and self-esteem.
Dharma leaders will continue to grasp the True Dharma like a religion, using it as an opium for the faithful and as expedient means power, predication and the growth and maintenance of towers of modern Babel.
I can say no more except that I do hope, but not trust, that this truth presented here may continue in some way for the benefit not only of the human creature who requires a true liberation from his own folly, but for all living creatures threatened by man's incredible search for domination of all things.
For those who do enter, and do so with an open and flexible mind, and grasp what has been readily made available for their own sake and that of future generations, I give now and will continue to give them all that has been experienced and internalized, knowing my own momentary frailty.
Be careful not to fall into the traps of sectarian Dharma, nor those of lineage, rites or ceremonies. In the early years of developing Chan, the most able students and masters sought the truth of the Dharma, the ways and means to recover the Uncarved Wood of the true human spirit.
Thus, masters of one model learned and taught those of other models so that the greatness and meditations of other models could be included and adapted into their own.
It is true that many masters have lost not the tradition, which is not really valid, but the esssence of the practices which do work in liberation. It is folly to reject that which does work for the benefit of all sentient beings, whatever its source, and it is folly to accept as the way that which is not.
