THE PRAJNAPARAMITA SUTRA

摩訶般若波羅蜜多心經

Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva performing timely deep Prajna Paramita, accordingly seeing the five aggregates each and every one empty, passed all corresponding hardship (and) distress.

Shariputa, appearance is not different from emptiness

Emptiness is not different than appearance

Appearance at once is emptiness

Emptiness at once is appearance

Emotion, thought/beliefs, impulses, (and) discernment (are) also again thus (the same).

Shariputra, all ways of doing things are empty appearance,

not born (and) not extinguished,

not dirtied (and) not clean,

not increasing (and) not decreasing.

Being therefore (that) emptiness hits (the mark) nothing has appearance.

(There is) no having emotion, thought/beliefs, impulses, (or) discernment,

not having eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, (or) thought (not mind),

not having color, sound, fragrance, taste, touch, (or) Buddhist teachings

not having a limiting extent, thus (there) arrives a lack of scope of thought/knowledge (mind consciousness).

Not having non-understanding also not having extinction of non-understanding,

(it continues) thus, until not having old age (and) death (and) also not having extinction of old-age (and) death,

not having the Four Noble Truths,

not having knowledge and not having obtaining,

and therefore, accordingly not having to actually obtain.

The Bodhisattva, therefore, depends upon Prajna Paramita,

(and) mind is not worried or concerned (nor) obstructed.

Not having worry or concern (there) is no existence of fear or terror.

Far apart from every failing, to the contrary, not having perception

is after all indeed Nirvana.

All three world Buddhas therefore depend upon Prajna Paramita,

obtaining no greater passing over than to Shen unity and the one Awakening.

Therefore, know that the Prajnaparamita great Shen mantra

is the great shining mantra,

(there) being no higher mantra,

(there) being no  equal and so on mantra,

capable of eliminating each and every hardship, indeed true not rejected.

Therefore (he) narrated the Prajna Paramita mantra,

  presenting the mantra saying,
