TABLE OF TEMPERAMENTS

TABLE OF NATURAL DOMINANT TEMPERAMENTS

This table shows the governing sublime state for each temperament and the governing natural impulse of the Life Force survival paradigms. We also show the natural development of Liberated Wisdom and the related Afferent Process.

It is to be noted that in each case that the liberated Wisdom reveals an aspect of the Two Truths related to Duality, Universal Suffering, Death and Existence (as Identity)

TABLE OF NATURAL TEMPERAMENTS

WITH RELATION TO ZEAL 熱心, rè xīn AND SPIRIT 神, shén

It is to be noted that the experiences of REXIN, ZEAL, are related and attached to Cognitive Associations while the experiences of SHEN, SPIRIT, appear as boundless and non particular.

You will remember that ZEAL is a motivating force, a process that permits the constant opening of communication between the Masculine Expression of the Life Force and Cognition. SPIRIT is a motivating force that permits the constant opening of communication between the Masculine Expression and the Feminine Life Force Programs.

THE WISDOMS: all are aspects of the Dharmakaya or "reality-body", which embodies the principle of Awakening.

1- "AWARENESS OF SAMENESS", which perceives that all phenomena are Unity and that there is a latent  sameness.

2.  " BARE NON-CONCEPTUALIZING AWARENESS" is a deep non-cognitive awareness of  EMPTINESS, the universal substrate of the other four. It is then the base on which all wisdom rests.

3.   "INVESTIGATIVE AWARENESS", which perceives the illusions, the uniqueness of dharmas, the ultimate dimension of phenomena. It allows an understanding that clear comprehension calls up illusion from the undifferentiated mass.

4.  "MIRROR-LIKE AWARENESS", which is devoid of all dualistic thought and is united with its 'content' as a mirror is with its reflections.

5. "ACCOMPLISHING ACTIVITIES", This is the awareness that is the end product of ZEAL, which "spontaneously carries out all that has to be done for the welfare of beings”. It is the final synthesis of the other four.

WITH RELATION TO THE CHAN CONTEMPLATIONS OF

FUNCTION, ESSENCE and VACUITY

While the Experiences of Rexin and Shen are transformed by discernment and captured by consciousness from memory, the transitory Chan experiences are with conscious Awe, Rapture or Bliss, but are without the conscious experiences of Panic, Fear or Aversion. There are however subtle and detectable physiological correlates experienced in which the mental correlates of them are respectively related to particular nuances of "EH?"

This, , eh?, is an interjection expressing doubt (what?), requiring an answer.

It is not the bafflement, puzzlement, or perplexity  present and maintained as the open-ended meditative question, "what?", but a slightly tense or stressful transient realization which is a launching pad to Awakening, when sustained naturally.
