BLACK DHARMA

DO YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE A HERO

WHEN REALLY YOU ARE STEPPING IN DHARMA DOG SHIT

All know the Way, but few actually walk it.

If you don't find a teacher soon, you'll live this life in vain.

It's true, you have the Buddha-nature.

But without the help of a teacher you'll never know it.

Only one person in a million becomes enlightened without a teacher's help.

                          BODHIDHARMA

                          大菩提  太虚

In the Dhammapada it is said:

One should follow a man of wisdom who rebukes one for one's faults,

as one would follow a guide to some buried treasure.

To one who follows such a wise man,

it will be an advantage and not a disadvantage.

Sometimes within the Dharma teachings it is time to "roar like a lion" as the Nirvana Sutra declares and take out the flexible rod.

Reflect truly upon that for a moment.

This part of the web page is for those who think they know what Buddha Dharma is all about and are attracted to the "Great Super Dao" or the magnetic "Chan Direct Wisdom."

The title sounds absurd, but it is a very good simile for the position of those who believe that they know what they are doing when they enter the Dao or Chan Coliseum, where they believe all their problems will be answered or where their intelligence will finally find its deserving and rightful home.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT SINCERE FIRST-TIME PAGE READERS, WHO BELIEVE THEY WILL WITH THEIR INTELLIGENCE RAPIDLY KNOW WHAT BUDDHA DHARMA IS ALL ABOUT, VIEW NOW THE FOLLOWING SHORT TEACHINGS AND FULLY DIGEST WHAT IS WITHIN WITH VERY CLOSE ATTENTION AND TRUE DILIGENCE.

THEY ARE OF GREAT IMPORTANCE IF YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT NATURAL INTELLIGENCE TO DISCERN YOUR OWN FOLLY AND USE A FLEXIBLE OPEN-MINDED INTROSPECTION.

A word from Master Yunmen to those already within their own trap:

"All of you who come and go for no reason: What are you looking for here?

"I only know how to eat and drink. What else would I be good for?

"You're making pilgrimages all over the place, studying Chan and asking about Dao:

"Let me ask you, what you have managed to learn in all those places?

"When you manage to find a little slime on my ass you lick it off, take it to be your own self and say 'I understand Chan, I understand Dao'!

"Even if you manage to read the whole Buddhist Canon, so what?

"You exterminators of Buddhism, you've been like this all along!

"And where has it brought you today?"

                                                                                               Yunmen

You must really understand what is being said here and why it is presented to all Buddha Dharma searchers.
